Last week, we were joined by speakers from Intel and Amazon Web Services to present the live webinar, Migrating HPC Workloads to the Cloud, and attracted more than 100 attendees. We discussed best practices and key capabilities required to make HPC cloud projects successful, efficient and on-budget.
Brock Taylor, the Director of HPC Solutions at Intel, shared insights into Intel’s holistic approach to HPC solutions, informed by its significant hardware and software involvement in HPC. Isaiah Weiner, a Principal Technologist from AWS, delved into HPC success stories on AWS, and shared examples of AWS’s infrastructure and pricing options. Based on our survey from late 2019 conducted with insideHPC, we know that cloud-spend management is a key challenge for users.
Fortunately, there are solutions that can make cloud computing both accessible and budget-friendly. The Navops Launch automation and spend management platform for migrating compute-intensive HPC workloads to the cloud is such a solution. Our customers at Univa are at different stages in their journey to the cloud. Univa’s Rob Lalonde, General Manager, Cloud, recommends spending time understanding cloud technology, starting small and building expertise in your organization before embarking on your cloud journey.
The webinar then moved to an insightful panel discussion. The panel discussed Intel and AWS’s recent collaborations, trends in AI and HPC workloads, and how to get started with the cloud.
We’d like to thank Brock Taylor and Isaiah Weiner for their insights and participation. We’d also like to thank all attendees for their time and excellent questions for the panel. The Migrating HPC Workloads to the Cloud webinar is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insights and knowledge to help accelerate your HPC cloud projects. Download the webinar today.
